Alan J
Filarski
September 27, 1952 – September 19, 2024
ALAN J. FILARSKI , age 71, passed away September 19, 2024. Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee Lawson); their children Jessamyn (Kevin), Jacob (Julie), and Anathea (Matt); son of John and Elizabeth "Kasia" Filarski (both deceased); brother of Kenneth (Elizabeth), Janis (deceased), Jeff (Patti), and Jennifer (Ken); uncle of many; and his greatest joy was being the beloved Papa of his seven grandchildren Maissie, Macgowan, Marlyn, Hendrix, Talulah, Elias, and Vada.
Stash had a big personality, a random array of interests from fishing to guns, an ear for good music from Andrea Bocelli to Dwight Yoakam, could dance to anything from polka to the Atomic Dog, loved the beach and was never seen without his cowboy boots. Alan was a style trendsetter with his oversized wardrobe that David Byrne stole from him. Many enjoyed and then were annoyed by his long goodbyes, especially Barb. He was always a gentleman to all, there to escort guests to their cars when leaving a party, even if he didn't host it.
Alan always wanted everyone to idz z Bogiem – "Go with God".
