March 30, 1926 – June 6, 2017
ALEX M. "POPS" HOLOKA, JR. , age 91. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth M.; loving father of Elizabeth (Richard), Alex (Christina), and Cheryl; cherished grandfather of David (Ann), Theresa (Jason), Steven (Imal), Christine, Nicole (Justin), Brittany (Hank), and Ashley (Thomas), and great-grandfather of Thomas, William, Meghan, Gabriel, Santiago, and Cora; dear brother of Andy (deceased) and Mary Sadesky. Alex served in the U.S. Army during WWII, receiving many medals, including the Victory Medal. He was the former owner of A&H Auto Body and Salvage in Garfield Heights. In 2008, Alex was named Veteran of the Year by the VFW. He also received a 50 plus year certificate from the Knights of Columbus. He belonged to the American Legion and Eagles clubs, along with the Garfield Heights Rotary Club. Due to his love of motorcycles and riding, he was a member of the Harley Davidson Owners Group (HOG). Friends may call at LATEK & RYBICKI, A GOLDEN RULE FUNERAL HOME , 4640 TURNEY RD. , where services will be held Saturday, June 10, at 9:15 AM and at St. Monica Church, Rockside Rd., at 10:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery. VISITING HOURS: FRIDAY 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
