Obituary

ARLENE SUE PALGUT, (nee Ocskai ), age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at her home, in Broadview Hts. with family by her side. For the past seven years, she was a courageous fighter in her battle with cancer. Arlene was born on January 27, 1939 in Cleveland to the late John Jr. and Jewel Ocskai (nee Szuhay). She was a 1957 graduate of John Adams H.S. and a dedicated 30 year employee of the Brecksville Broadview Hts. School system, most notably as Secretary of the Athletic Dept. "Honey", which she was lovingly referred to by family, leaves a legacy of life, laughter and love. Her family was her heart and soul and her life reflected that every day. She was the bond that held and will continue to hold her family together. She took great joy in watching and guiding her grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan, over the years. She gave great advice and was a shoulder to lean on to her entire family as well as friends. She took pride in her beautiful home and enjoyed watching cooking shows as well as preparing meals for her family. She had a love of playing the piano and she also enjoyed listening to recorded disks on her treasured Baby Grand. Lawrence Welk re-runs on Saturday was a must see favorite. "Buongiorno" Honey….Till we meet again. You will be sadly missed but loved FOREVER!!! She is survived by, George, her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 56 years (wed on Sept. 19, 1959); loving mother of Jeffrey (Susie Moser) of Charlotte, NC, Karyn of Colorado Springs, CO. and Gregory (Karen Samardge) of Broadview Hts., OH.; cherished grandmother of Jacob and Ethan; beloved sister of Joan Drehs (Doug-deceased) and Carol Freyhauf (Roger). She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The family is grateful for the kindness, love and wonderful at home care, she received from the Cleveland Clinic Hospice at Home staff. Flowers are always welcome and appreciated although the family suggests contributions to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave., Cleveland 44113 or The Gathering Place, 23300 Commerce Park, Beachwood, 44122.
