DORIS R. SMITH , (nee Schaef), age 98. Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Joel B.; loving mother of Alaine Sotera (Darryl), Alvin "Bean" (Caroline), and Michael; cherished grandmother of Craig Sotera (Dawn), Curt Sotera (Adrienne), Shel Smith, Jeff Smith (Becky), Steve Smith (Brooke), and Ted Smith; devoted great-grandmother of Mya, Rhea, and Kate Sotera, and Asher, Isla, Vada, Romy, Hayes, and Ivy Smith; dear sister of William and Glen Schaef (both deceased) and Shirley Schaef-Carter; dearest companion of George Dunlap (deceased). U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII with the WAVES stationed at U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola, FL from 1944-1946. Doris also served as a police officer and clerk for the Chagrin Falls Police Department. Private family services were held. Interment Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
