It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kazimierz "Casey" Walendzik on February 28th, 2026 in Ashtabula Ohio after years of battling COPD and asbestosis lung disease.
Casey was born April 30th, 1953 in Plonach, Poland to the late Antoni and Hieronima Walendzik. His family immigrated to America in 1963 when Casey was 10 years old. He grew up on Fleet Ave. in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood and graduated from South High.
He married the love of his life, Michele on September 23rd, 1978 and they raised their 3 children in Garfield Heights, Ohio. Casey worked for the Garfield Heights Board of Education as a carpenter for over 30 years before retiring in 2013.
Casey worked hard and tirelessly on providing for his family and building them a beautiful life. Whether it was building you the porch of your dreams or being called to the side of the road to come and save the day, he was a hero to his family. He loved golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved watching the Cleveland Browns, cussing at the TV while watching them lose. He also became an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed watching the televised races when football season was over. He spent his time after retiring at Holiday Camplands where he enjoyed relaxing with his wife on the porch and hosting sleepovers with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Michele Walendzik. As well as his brothers, Lester Walendzik, Mike Walendzik, Andy Walendzik and Johnny Walendzik.
He is survived by his children Katie Chikik (Sean), Holly Munshower (Chad) and Steven Walendzik, as well as a gang of grandchildren; Henry and Savannah Chikik, Casey and Johanna Munshower, Tyler Delaney, Lucas Walendzik, Alyssa Kancler, Josie Justice and Hailey Walendzik.
