August 19, 1930 – May 11, 2021
LEN PRYER, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 11. Beloved husband of the late Hanna for 40 years; loving father of Evonne; dear brother of the following deceased: Frank Prybor (Sophie), John Prybor (Helen), Janet Bukowski (Al), Edmund Prybor, Lee Pryer (Jean), and Mildred Carpenter (Del). He attended school at St. Stanislaus Elementary School (K-8; class of 1944), East Technical High School (class of 1948), and Kent State University (B.S. Education-1955 and M.Ed.-1962). Len taught English for 33 years and retired in 1988. His teaching career included seven years in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (high school: grades 9-12; Lincoln and Kennard High School), one year in Germany (high school; Army base), and 25 years in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District (junior high: grades 7-8 and high school: grades 9-12). Len also coached wrestling and track, and taught driver's education. He enjoyed playing golf at various courses throughout NE Ohio, playing handball at the Cleveland and Brooklyn YMCA, and traveling extensively to 35 countries including U.S., Canada, Mexico, Poland, Germany, England, France, Italy, Kenya-Africa, etc. Len belonged to various community organizations throughout Cleveland including Lincoln Ole Sports, Parma Polish American League (PPAL), The Polish Genealogical Society of Greater Cleveland, St. Stanislaus Alumni Group, and Parma Moose Lodge #1744. He was also an active member at church and his involvement and volunteer activities included being a lector, parish board member, making pierogis and helping at Lenten Fish Fries, and attending Bible study classes. (corner of Broadview and Sprague Rds.) , where services will be held Saturday, May 22, at 9:30 AM and at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, Broadview Rd. at 10:00 AM.
