Pamela Marie Kikeli

PAMELA KIKELI—a beloved daughter, sister, and child of God. Though our hearts carry the weight of loss, we stand in the light of God’s promise, trusting that Pam is now whole, restored, and held in the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father.

Pamela was born on February 19, 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Steve A. Kikeli and Rose Marie Kikeli. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Garfield Heights and joined the St. Monica’s Parish, where the seeds of her faith were planted and nurtured. She attended St. Monica’s Grade School, Beaumont High School, and later studied at Muskingum College and the University of Toledo. Her love of learning was a gift she carried throughout her life. 

As her brother, and only sibling, I cherish the memories God gave us—long summer days swimming in our backyard pool, tending our large family garden, and the summer we worked together delivering phone books door to door. We challenged one another, debated ideas, and grew together. Pam had a brilliant mind and a deep curiosity about the world; she loved the sciences and delighted in science fiction, always seeking to understand the wonder of God’s creation.

Pam made many lifelong friends and kept in close contact with them. She remembered countless details about their lives and took joy in sharing their successes with me. After our parents passed, she lived alone in the family home, sustained by kind neighbors and a devoted caregiver who helped her remain there with comfort and dignity. 

She was an avid reader and a devoted crafter, using her hands and imagination to bring beauty into the world. Yet above all, Pam’s greatest devotion was to her faith. She loved the Lord with her whole heart, attended Church regularly, read her Bible daily, and sought God’s presence in both joy and hardship. Her faith was the anchor of her life.

In her later years, Pam faced significant physical struggles. Even then, she remained a faithful servant of the Lord. Her Priest Father John and the Eucharistic minister brought her communion when she could no longer attend Mass in person, and she felt God’s nearness with every visit. She would always express to me how blessed she felt after the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Scripture reminds us that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and we trust that He walked beside her every step of the way.

Today we take comfort in knowing that Pam’s suffering has ended. She is healed, restored, and at peace. The same God who guided her through this life has welcomed her into eternal life, where there is no pain, no fear, and no burden—only the fullness of God’s love and joy.

Pamela’s journey on earth has ended, but her spirit lives on in the memories we hold, in the love she shared, and in the eternal presence of God. We release her into His care with gratitude for the time we were given and with the blessed hope that we will see her again.

May her memory be a blessing, and may God’s peace rest upon all who loved her.
