A PHOENIX Is Reborn Out of Dash, also known as: Pheenie, Pheenie Bean, Pheen Bean, #funeralhomepuppy, Buddy, Butters, Beaners, Rufus, Phoebe, Fat Boy, Phoenix Earl, Meanix, and N.A.H., age 6 years, 1 month and 14 days.  Deeply beloved pupper of Sara Wise; best buddy (and let's be honest, soulmate) of His Brian (Brian Anielski); cherished grandpup of Dick and Amy Wise, and Wayne and Rose Anielski; favorite dog nephew of Ryan and Jessica Wise; tolerated cousin of CoCo and Trigger; former roommate of Mz. Avairee (Avery Baker); and devoted coworker at Latek & Rybicki Funeral Home.

A dog was born November 22, 2014 and became Phoenix on January 11, 2015 when his mom picked him up and brought him home.  He started work that same day at Latek & Rybicki Funeral Home, sitting on his mom's lap, hidden under the desk during a visitation.  He loved going to work every day.  While he stayed just an office pup, he took the job very seriously.  He would run up the steps and give his best roo-roos, (He was a talker!).  He would wait at the top of the steps to greet anyone coming up in hopes a head scritch or two would be given.  They were.  Mostly though, he would nap most of the day in places you had to step over him.

Phoenix loved running with Mom.  So many miles were covered together.  His longest distance was seven miles and he even ran a few races.  Usually, he helped her train for her races.  His mom always shared her medals with him.

Phoenix loved cardboard boxes.  Just the sound of one opening brought him running to destroy each box.  He also loved opening up presents.  Wrapping paper and boxes were no match for him; neither were Mz. Avairee's lip glosses or orchids.  And good luck putting on a pair of socks in front of him.  Hopefully, you were still flexible and could lift your leg above his attacking mouth.

Phoenix would bark his head off if snow or dirt were being shoveled, a hose was being sprayed, leaves were being raked, or wood was being split.  He wanted those objects thrown up in the air so he could jump up and catch them.  Or at least have it crash all over his face.

Speaking of catching- Phoenix caught two mice in his lifetime.  His breed is known for being ratters, so he was very proud of those two catches.

Phoenix was an odd duck and loved raw veggies and fruit.  As Mom was cutting them each morning, he would give a little woof to let you know he was there and some better be shared.  Broccoli, cucumbers, and green beans being his favorite.  He would share a banana every morning with his mom on their way to work and an apple during the day.

Phoenix went everywhere with Mom and His Brian.  He enjoyed beach vacations, weekend trips to the cabin, going to family and friends' houses, every car or truck ride possible, (He learned how to put his window down in any vehicle.  Sticking his head out in the rain was his favorite and barking at the splashing puddles that Mom would purposely drive through for him.) and following His Brian all over our five acres.

Phoenix was diagnosed with a terminal nasal tumor on December 14, 2020.

He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on January 5, 2021 in his mom's arms and looking at His Brian.
