RICHARD G. HOLT Sr.
July 18, 1945 – January 20, 2024
Rick began his life in Berkley, Michigan to parents, Richard "Dick" and Dorothy (Reed), and sister Kristi (later married to Gary McCombs).
Rick loved to play golf, which was a passed-down trait!!
He caddied during his high school years and had many stories to tell about the "stars of the day" he caddied for including Mickey Rooney, Pat Boone, and more.
Rick attended Adrian College in Michigan. After graduating, he worked for many years in the telecommunications industry, founded his company, RJB, Inc., and consulted for businesses around the country. He was a mentor to many and willing to help anyone.
While at Adrian he met his wife, Carole (deL'horbe).
They married in the College Chapel and enjoyed 57 years of life together with their wonderful sons, Rick, deceased, married to Dawn (Joachim), Jon, and Bryan, married to Meredith (Mealy), that he was so very proud of.
He loved supporting and being involved in the many activities, sports, and music programs the boys participated in growing up.
He loved being with and talking to his many cousins, nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
He was so excited with the birth of each of his grandchildren, David, Robert, Alyson, and Kaitlyn. They brought so much joy, he loved them with all his heart, and would do anything he could for them.
Rick was interesting to be around because of his intelligence and vast knowledge. Once he set his mind on something, he learned all he could about that subject.
He was an avid reader and loved history, which led him to spend countless hours working on the family's genealogy.
He built miniature boxes and furniture by hand.
Rick's model rocket building and launching was enjoyed by many for the last 20 years (if not longer).
Rick will be so missed, but never forgotten.
If you feel inspired to make a gift in lieu of flowers please make a donation in Rick's name to the charity of your choice. Rick liked the ASPCA, American Cancer Society, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
