VERY REV. FR. GERALD J. BORAWSKI, age 77, of Lafayette, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Creasy Springs Health Center in Lafayette, IN.  Fr. Borawski was born September 6, 1943, in Cleveland, the son of the late Joseph and Florence (nee Przeracki) Borawski.  He was a graduate of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, attended Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe, and Orchard Lake Seminary in Orchard Lake, MI. He was ordained June 3, 1972, and served parishes in the Diocese-of-Lafayette-in-Indiana from 1972 until he was granted retirement in 2014.  Among those parishes were St. Ambrose in Anderson; Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Lafayette; Sacred Heart, Cicero; St. Ann, Monterey; St. John the Baptist in Tipton; St. Mary in Frankfort, and Our Lady of the Lakes in Monticello.  In 2002 he was honored by the Bishop of the Diocese of Lomza, Poland with the title Very Reverend Canon of the Capitular Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Myszyniec, Poland.  Fr. Borawski was twice granted bi-ritual faculties in the Ukraine, Byzantine Rite of the Catholic Eparchy of St. Nicholas in Chicago for Ukranians, and was a member of the Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus.  Beloved brother of Edward (deceased), William Borawski, and Thomas Borawski, Sr. (Lynn); loving uncle of Amanda Anderson (Bear), Lisa Borawski, MaryAnn Borawski (deceased), Thomas Borawski, Jr., and John A. Borawski (Catherine); dear cousin and friend of many.  Friends may call at LATEK & RYBICKI, A GOLDEN RULE FUNERAL HOME, 7906 BROADVIEW RD. (corner of Broadview and Sprague Rds.) for VISITING HOURS: MONDAY 5-8 PM .  Family and friends are asked to meet TUESDAY, JULY 20 , at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 13400 Lorain Ave., Cleveland, for VISITATION 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
